Common questions.
Will fitting a dash cam affect my BMW warranty?
No. The Advanced Car Eye is a BMW Genuine Accessory, fitted by our technicians at Hedin Ruxley using BMW-approved procedures. It has no effect on your manufacturer warranty. Aftermarket dash cams fitted by third parties are a different matter. If you're unsure, always check with your dealer first.
Can I add a dash cam after I've taken delivery?
Yes, absolutely. You can have one fitted at any point at Hedin Ruxley. Just ask Dan to book a fitting appointment. Alternatively, if you're ordering a new BMW, you can add it to your order before handover and have everything ready from day one.
Does it record when the car is parked and switched off?
Yes. Both models have a parking mode. The 3.0 PRO goes further with dedicated radar and vibration sensors that detect impacts and movement around the car, with up to 24 hours of parking coverage. The 3.1 also has a parking mode, though without the radar sensor technology.
How do I view the footage?
Both models use the Advanced Car Eye smartphone app (available on iOS and Android). Connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to browse footage, download clips, and share directly with your insurer or the police. The 3.0 PRO also includes a 64GB microSD card in the box.
Is it compatible with my BMW?
Compatibility varies by model year, body style, and specification. Dan will check ETK (BMW's official parts and compatibility system) before placing any order. Some models (for example certain BMW F40, F44, G70 and G6X variants) may require additional parts; these will be quoted separately.
